Parent involvement in school is key to each student's success and to the health of the school community. Here are some ways to support the school community.
Spreading the Word
When you tell your friends and neighbors about Friends School of Portland, it makes a big difference. They value your word and they, in turn tell others.
Volunteering
This school has already taken unexpected turns because of the talents and interests of people like you. Your expertise may be just what we need! Let us know.

Attend Parents Association Meetings
The mission of the FSPPA is to encourage parents' involvement in the school, foster a school community, and support the mission of the school. In support of this mission, the FSPPA will:
- sponsor and organize events to bring the school community together;
- support teachers and staff through appreciation and recognition efforts;
- create a forum for parent volunteers;
- encourage communication among parents, faculty, administration and the Board of Directors; and
- organize fundraising activities to benefit the school.
The FSPPA meets every other month for business, conducted in the manner of a Quaker meeting for business. On alternate months, the FSPPA sponsors programs addressing topics such as the commercialization of childhood and how to talk about sex with children.
