Stories by the Forest

During our seven weeks of summer programs, FSP will host Stories by the Forest weekly on Tuesdays at 11am. Maine authors, storytellers, and musicians will present children's stories and activities. Free and open to the public. Bring a picnic lunch!

Past presenters include Chris Van Dusen, National Book Award winning author Phil Hoose, Katie Clark, Annie Sibley O'Brien, Scott Nash, Cathryn Falwell, Lisa Ellen Jahn-Clough, Jamie Hogan, Reza Jalali, Ellie Chase, Amy McDonald, Beth Cadena, Jeannie Brett, and Sarah Thomsen.

Tuesday, June 19, 2018: Storyteller (and FSP aftercare coordinator) Linda Ashe-Ford presents The Mermaid and the Golden Comb -- a Jamaican Folktale

Tuesday, June 26: Sparks' Ark -- live animal presentation

Tuesday, July 3: Dakota Douglas and Colin Richardson of the Maine Primitive Skills School present a Forest Story -- and teach awareness and tracking skills as part of the experience

Tuesday, July 10: Jackson Gillman presents Songs and Stories for a Small Planet

Tuesday, July 17: Sharoan Cohen and Kevin Attra lead a participatory story of dance and music

Tuesday, July 24: Artist Scott Kelley --author and illustrator of I am Birch

Tuesday, July 31: Maine Audubon presents bird stories and bird calls
