A Typical Day

Drop off begins at 7:55 and the school day begins at 8:15 (8:45 for Preschool and Kindergarten) with a morning circle in each class where we greet each other, settle into a short silence to preview the day, share news, and perhaps sing. Each class has a slightly different rhythm of learning experiences. Outdoor play happens before midmorning snack and before lunch, which students and staff eat together. Preschool and Kindergarten morning programs end at noon, before lunch.  At least once a day, teachers read aloud to children. And usually in the afternoon, specialist teachers offer their expertise in foreign language, music, art and physical education.  Monday through Thursday the day ends at 3:00 and on Fridays at 1:45 after the assembly which usually starts at 1:00.  Aftercare is offered until 5:30 every day.
